What this service is

SRE Labs is a training platform for authoring, reviewing and running hands-on technical lab guides, together with the lab environments those guides use. It is provided for education and internal technical training. It is not a production system, it is not a backup service, and it is not intended for storing anything you cannot afford to lose.

Your account

Accounts are issued to a named individual. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password and any second factor to yourself and do not share your login. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it. We may suspend or close an account that is being used in breach of these terms, and we may close accounts that are no longer needed — for example when someone leaves the team.

You can close your own account at any time from your profile. Closing an account disables sign-in and keeps the record of work you produced; if you want your personal data erased as well, that is a separate request and is described in the privacy notice.

Acceptable use

The lab environments are real infrastructure. Treat the boundary between your lab and everything else as a rule rather than a challenge. Specifically, do not:

• attack, scan, overload or attempt to gain access to any system, network or account beyond the lab environment assigned to you — including this platform itself
• use a lab environment to reach the public internet for anything other than the exercise you were given, or to attack any third party
• upload or publish content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, that contains malware, or that contains personal data about other people which you have no basis to share
• upload real production credentials, customer data, or anything covered by an obligation of confidentiality you are not free to place here
• share your account, circumvent access controls, or attempt to view content you have not been given access to
• interfere with the service for other users, including by consuming resources far beyond what an exercise requires

If you find a security problem, please report it rather than exploiting it. Good-faith reports are welcome and we will not pursue you for making one.

Content you upload

You keep ownership of the lab guides, documents and other material you upload. You give us permission to store, display and distribute that material within this platform so it can do its job — showing your guide to the people it is meant for, exporting it, and keeping version history. You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload.

Authorship and ownership are tracked separately: a guide records who wrote it and, independently, who is currently responsible for maintaining it. Responsibility can be reassigned — for example when someone changes role — without altering the record of who wrote the material.

If you believe something here infringes your rights, contact us and we will review it and remove it where appropriate.

Availability, and what we do not promise

SRE Labs is provided as-is and as-available. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that lab environments will always be reachable. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, and we may remove content that breaches these terms.

Keep your own copy of anything you would be upset to lose. We take backups for our own operational purposes; they are not a service we offer you, and we do not guarantee that any particular piece of content can be recovered.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit or opportunity arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Privacy

What we hold about you, how long we keep it and what rights you have are set out in the privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we make a material change we will publish a new version here and ask you to accept it the next time you sign in. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the current version.
